Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman is apparently on the verge of being fired, and Arsenal's only target, Domenec Torrent, has been endorsed for the job.
Barรงa were humiliated 3-0 at Benfica on Wednesday night, raising questions about Koeman's future.
Guillem Balague has told BBC Sport that Koeman's departure is now inevitable, with Barcelona seeking a change.
Various names have been promoted, and Domenec Torrent is now one of them.
Torrent for Barcelona?
Names like Xavi and Roberto Martinez have been suggested for the past 24 hours, with Torrent something of a yell from left field.
Former Barcelona coach with Pep Guardiola, Torrent followed Pep to Bayern Munich and Manchester City.
Torrent went on to run New York City and Flamengo, winning more than 48% of his games in both roles.
Now however Former Barcelona midfielder Marc Crosas has taken to Twitter to back Torrent for a career change to the Camp Nou hot seat.
Crosa believes there are 'thousands of reasons' for naming Torrent, urging Barcelona to think outside the box and go with Pep's assistant.
Arteta wanted Torrent at Arsenal
This would be a huge increase for Torrent, especially since he was linked to a coaching job at Arsenal less than two years ago.
The Daily Mail reported that Mikel Arteta wanted to add Torrent to his coaching staff at Arsenal.
The couple had worked together at Manchester City and a reunion was deemed "likely".
In the end, the deal fell through. Instead, Torrent's path led him to Brazil, but he may still become Barcelona's manager, a huge step up from an Arsenal manager.
