PolitiFact – No, Tesla didn’t launch this cryptocurrency trading platform

What looks like a BBC News article about a new Tesla project is making the rounds on social media, promising people "the biggest once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to build a small fortune fast."

“SPECIAL REPORT: Tesla Launches Its New Bitcoin iFex 360 Ai Platform – Aims To Help Families Become Wealthier,” reads the purported headline. "Due to the financial crisis around the world, Tesla has launched a new project that promises to help families become richer."

First of all: this is not a real BBC News article. It's a blog post with a URL that includes cokuysal.com and references to a Tommy Hilfiger "mini reporter bag in black." when we tried File, Archive blog post, did not save the story about the alleged bitcoin project, but rather a retail page selling the aforementioned bag for $129.

We've reached out to Tesla about the post, but haven't heard back. However, we found no evidence, such as Tesla press releases, that would connect the company to "Bitcoin iFex 360 Ai," which the blog post says is a new cryptocurrency trading platform that Tesla says "can transform anyone into a millionaire within 3-4 months."

A Belgian TV station came to the same conclusion in November, when he reviewed a French version of the claims in this post.

While reporting this story, the text of the blog post changed to reflect that Tesla had launched a platform with a different name: "+360 iFex App BTC." Whatever the name, this is wrong.

We rate this post as False.
