Metrolinx offers you even more ways to pay your fare on Burlington Transit. You can now pay your fee by tapping a digital version of the PRESTO card in Google Wallet, on an Android smartphone, or on a Wear OS smartwatch.
When you use PRESTO in Google Wallet, the fee you pay is the same as when you pay with your PRESTO card.
With this new way to pay, you can load funds to your card instantly, from anywhere! You will still need to visit us at the Downtown Transportation Terminal, 430 John St., to load your U-Pass Add-on either SPLIT pass.

Once you convert to PRESTO in Google Wallet, your physical PRESTO card will be canceled and most details will be transferred, including rate type, balance, products, card settings, charging/charging contracts. Automatic renewal, loyalty and more to PRESTO in Google Wallet.
Your newly converted PRESTO in Google Wallet will still be registered in your PRESTO account and will be displayed on the PRESTO website, but can only be managed through the PRESTO app.
You may decide that the physical PRESTO card is still your preferred card option, especially if:
- Share your card with a family member or friend.
- Prefer to keep your payment cards separate from your Android smartphone or Wear OS smartwatch.
- You prefer to visit a customer service point or self-service reload machines to make changes, including to load funds to your PRESTO card. Changes may take up to 24 hours to appear.
- You need access to up to 24 months of transaction history and the Transit Usage Report for your records and tax purposes.
