Samsung launches metaverse store in Decentraland


Samsung is the latest megacorporation to announce a meta-company project, opting for Decentraland for its metaverse project.

On January 6, 2021, the consumer electronics giant Announced the opening of a virtual replica of its iconic physical store in New York to improve customer interaction at a time when COVID-19 is keeping people away from physical stores.

The Samsung metaverse store is a replica of a real world store located at 837 Washington Street in the Meatpacking District of New York City in Manhattan. The Samsung 837X store will now be accessible in the metaverse for a limited time. The company claims it is one of the largest branded land acquisitions in Decentraland, a blockchain-powered metaverse.

Customers must first log into Decentraland using a web browser to access the store. After logging in, your avatar will be sent outside of the Samsung metaverse structure. When the avatar enters the lobby, a virtual guide will take you to one of the three interior rooms: sustainability, personalization and connection.

The Samsung 837X store will feature a "Sustainability Forest and Connectivity Theater" as well as a musical event in the "Personalization Stage," according to Samsung.

The South Korean tech giant recently announced the launch of a new range of smart TVs with an integrated NFT platform. Micro LED, Neo QLED, and The Frame are just a few of Samsung's 2022 smart TVs that will have an NFT platform app for discovering, buying, and trading digital art.
