Saskatchewan finance authority warns of unregistered cryptocurrency investors | Globalnews.ca

According to the Saskatchewan Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority (FCAA), potential cryptocurrency scams have emerged in the province.

Online entities TitanTrader and Coins Capital offer various opportunities to invest in cryptocurrency trading, leverage, and commodities.

The FCAA said none of them are registered to trade or sell securities or derivatives in the province.

"If a company is not registered, don't deal with it," said Dean Murrison of the FCAA. โ€œThe registration process has one purpose: to protect Saskatchewan investors. Make sure your money is safe by always checking the registration status before investing.โ€

TitanTrader operates through the website http://www.titantrader.net and Coins Capital is using http://www.coins-capital.com.

If you have invested in any of the companies or anyone claiming to act on their behalf, please contact the FCAA Securities Division at 306-787-5936.

The authority said residents should always ensure a company is registered to sell before participating, know what they are investing in, seek professional advice and not allow anyone to remotely access a personal computer.
