FALLS CITY - The Richardson County Sheriff's Office reports a two-vehicle accident with injuries at the intersection of Highway 73 and 650 Avenue Saturday night.

A Pontiac Torrent, driven by 48-year-old Scott Bachman Sr. of Humboldt, and a 2019 Ford Ranger truck, driven by 53-year-old Troy Tucker of Caldwell, Texas, collided.

Investigators say Tucker violated a stop sign and got in the way of the Bachman vehicle.

The Falls City Voluntary Ambulance Squad searched and released both drivers, but two of the three passengers in the Bachman vehicle were transported to the Community Medical Center. A minor passenger in Bachman's vehicle and a passenger in the Tucker van were not transported.

Tucker is suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol.

The sheriff's office also reports a two-vehicle accident Sunday night on Highway 73 and 651 Avenue.

A Buick sedan driven by Ruth Groothuis of Falls City, 87, was attempting to enter the St. Paul Lutheran Church parking lot when it collided with the driver of a Chevrolet pickup of 30-year-old Lucus Ely of Brownville.

Investigators say Ely tried to avoid the collision, but was struck from the driver's side and rolled into the ditch.

An ambulance team transported three occupants of the Groothuis vehicle to hospital with minor injuries. Ely was transported in a private vehicle with serious injuries.

Groothuis is suspected of not releasing.
