While it definitely offers a more understated slate than any of the studios, which are featuring their tents, Neon can boast of some pretty intriguing award contenders, and indeed Spencer lead that pack.
While some might roll their eyes at the idea of another Princess Diana biopic, Pablo Larraín's film seems unconventional and largely a companion piece to his own. Jackie. Like that movie, this seems to focus on the stress of being on display and in the public eye, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, taking place during the crumbling years of Diana and Prince Charles's marriage (with Charles played by Jack Farthing), this is very different from The crown on Netflix as it seems more focused on the domestic aspect of being royalty than the pageantry.
