Chennai, July 27 (UNI) Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu MKStalin
today launched 25 compressed natural gas (CNG) stations
and a City Gate station (mother station) created by Torrent Gas
in the Chennai and Tiruvallur state districts.
The availability of CNG will bring great relief to vehicle owners,
car, taxi and commercial vehicle operators, who are reeling
under the ever-increasing prices of gasoline and diesel.
Welcoming Torrent Gas to Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister MK Stalin
said access to Compressed Natural Gas, which is a cheaper and
cleaner alternative to gasoline and diesel, has long felt
need of the people of the State.
He said the availability of CNG and significant savings will encourage
consumers to adopt it, which has a positive impact on the
environment.
The domestic, commercial and industrial use of Natural Gas
stimulate further industrial development in the state โ.
He also promised that the state government will take steps to
Facilitate faster deployment of CGD infrastructure in the state.
Addressing online media, Torrent Gas Director Jinal Mehta
said CNG is now available at 25 CNG stations in Chennai and
Tiruvallur.
The goal is to install 50 CNG stations by September this year.
