The Nifty Pharma Index closed up 0.12 percent at 12,455.5.
The benchmark NSE Nifty50 index finished up 35.75 points at 18321.15, while the BSE Sensex rose 98.84 points at 61872.62.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 ended in the green, while 21 closed in the red.
