Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.49%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma Index closed on a negative note on Wednesday.

Shares of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals (up 1.13%), Torrent Pharmaceuticals (up 0.75%), Sanofi India (up 0.44%), Lupine (up 0.27%) and Abbott India (up 0.27%). 0.19% more) finished the day as the top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Laurus (1.42 percent less), Gland Pharma (1.31 percent less), Biocon (1.24 percent less), Aurobindo Pharma (1.03 percent less) and Zydus Lifesciences (down 0.99 percent) finished as the biggest losers for the day.

The Nifty Pharma Index closed 0.49% lower at 11,750.15.

The benchmark NSE Nifty50 index finished up 42.95 points at 17754.4, while the BSE Sensex rose 123.63 points at 60348.09.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 ended in the green, while 18 closed in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Zomato Ltd., Tata Steel, shree ren sug and Suzlon Energy they were among the most traded stocks on the NSE. Actions of Kirloskar Oil, Imagicaaworld Login, Vardhman Special, Titagarh Wagons and TD Power Sys hit their new 52-week highs in today's trading, while Parsvnath Dev., Vineet Laboratories Limited., future retail, Suumaya lifestyle and future supply chain hit its new 52-week lows.
