Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Energy shares were trading lower on Thursday at 11:01 a.m.

PTC India (up 4.97%), Jyoti Structures (up 4.62%), Transformers & Rectifiers (India) (up 2.75%),

Transmission (up 1.91%), JSW Energy (up 1.51%), Indo Tech Transformers (up 1.43%), Inox Wind Energy (up 0.86%), Reliance Power (up 0.71%) , Jaiprakash Power Ventures (up 0.69%) and KEC International (up 0.68%) were among the top gainers.

ADANIGREEN (down 4.72%), Torrent Power (down 3.56%), Karma Energy (down 2.89%), KPI Green Energy (down 2.32%), Suzlon Energy-Partly Pd up Right Is (down 2.05%), Adani Transmissions (down 1.32%), Adani Power (down 1.20%), Suzlon Energy (down 1.02%), Tata Power Company (down 0.70%) and Indowind Energy (down 0 .69%) were among the biggest losers.

The NSE Nifty50 Index was trading 35.6 points at 18,129.75, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 101.66 points at 60,944.08 at around 11:01 a.m.

UPL Ltd (up 1.44%), Tata Steel (up 1.35%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE (up 1.03%), SBI Life (up 1.0%), JSW Steel (up 0.76%), Coal India (up 0.51%), Grasim Industries (up 0.51%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation (up 0.49%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (up 0, 47%) and HDFC Bank (up 0.44%) were among the top winners of the Nifty package.

On the other hand, Adani Enterprises (down 3.84%), Titan Company Ltd (down 1.38%), Hindustan Unilever (down 1.1%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone (down 1.06 %), Tata Motors (down 0.95%), Divis Laboratories (down 0.91%), Enterprises (down 0.89%), IndusInd Bank (down 0.87%), Kotak Mahindra Bank ( up 0.81%) and Nestle India (up 0.78%) were trading in the red.
