Indian indices opened slightly lower on February 15 amid weak global signals.
sensex today: Indian indices opened slightly lower on February 15 amid weak global signals. The Sensex was down 163.13 points, or 0.27%, at 60,869.13, and the Skilled It was down 43.60 points, or 0.24%, at 17,886.20. Approximately 986 shares have advanced, 958 shares have decreased, and 144 shares have not changed.
Adani Enterprises, Eicher Motors, Grasim Industries, UPL, and Reliance Industries were among the top gainers from Nifty, while the losers were ITC, Apollo Hospitals, HUL, L&T, and Wipro.
Broader markets were also lower, as the Nifty MidCap 100 and Nifty SmallCap 100 indices fell as much as 0.5 percent. Sectorally, the Nifty IT index was hit hardest, falling as much as 1 percent, while the Nifty Media and Nifty Metal indices got off to a positive start.
Among individual stocks, Torrent Power shares soared 8% after the company reported 88% year-on-year growth in its consolidated net profit of Rs 694.54 crore in the third quarter of fiscal 2023.
Also, shares of Eicher Motors rose 3 percent after posting better-than-expected December quarterly results.
