Nigerians on social media platforms have responded fervently to the recent apology by singer Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe aka Ayra Starr extended to renowned music legend Sunny Ade.

Ayra recently faced strong accusations of disrespect. during the Sunny Ade Afrozons-Heineken Pre-Grammy Party held in Lagos.

A widely circulated video captures the 21-year-old singer greeting a group of people seated next to the esteemed Sunny Ade, 77, at the event with what some consider minimal recognition.

Online users were quick to criticize the 'Bloody Samaritan' sensation, prompting her to apologize for her actions.

“I'm so sorry, I had just entered and all the lights and nerves didn't let me see but I greeted everyone properly again, I have never been that disrespectful girl, I am a true Yoruba. girlllll and the video didn't start until I greeted Burna's mom. I am so sorry to the legend, uncle and king Sunny Ade.," she wrote.

Her apology, however, sparked mixed reactions as many criticized her for addressing the musician as her uncle.

He performed at Afrozons pre-Grammy party in Lagos State on Friday night and just before going on stage, he paid his respects to some VIPs, just as he reached King Ade, he gave him a handshake.

She was also seen casually greeting Burna Boy's mother, Bose Ogulu, and others who were sitting near King Sunny Ade.
