LAFAYETTE – A pickup truck crashed into a fire hydrant in Lafayette just before noon Tuesday, causing a torrent of water to gush out.
Lafayette police said it was a single-vehicle crash and no one was injured.
Contra Costa County firefighters and the East Bay Municipal Utility District worked together to stop the flow of water. Crews turned off the water after about 30 minutes.
Lafayette police are investigating the cause of the crash.
