Terrifying eruption of Etna

The Etna eruption shows no signs of abating. All night the sky was red as blood and the terrifying ash rain. The situation in Linguaglossa, according to the telegram sent this morning from Catania, remains very serious. The lava flow has reached fifty meters from the city, and some houses have already collapsed from the blows that accompanied the eruption. Around this part of the field, which a week ago presented such a picture of beauty, is now desolation. The vineyards are destroyed, the trees have disappeared, and ash and lava cover the hills. Cerro is semi-submerged, a torrent of boiling lava swallowing its houses one by one. The lava has reached the Castiglione station and has destroyed the beautiful pine tree.
