The program was not even open, so it is clear that it was during an automatic scan, or because Microsoft has instructed it to remotely scan this address for this threat. Either way, The transmission is suspected to have viruses. that can damage our PC. And, therefore, the security software has decided to block it and send it to quarantine.
What I am not convinced of is the threat of which you accuse him. I have also launched an analysis in VirusTotal to see if the same thing happens with other antiviruses, and, for now, it seems not. Therefore, everything indicates that it is a false positive. Although, in any case, personally I am not 100% calm either.

Personally, although I think it is the best, the development of Transmission is not exactly the best. It is a program for Linux, where it works wonderfully, but when we want to use it on other systems the problems begin. In the case of Windows, for example, it depends on the Qt libraries, which make the program heavier and consume more resources than it should.
For this reason, and especially after this incident with Microsoft Defender, we have decided change streaming to qBittorrent. This second program is another torrent download client, which is also completely free and open source, has no advertising, imitates the appearance of uTorrent and also consumes very few resources on the PC, which makes it ideal for all types of downloads. of torrents. of computers.
It is a program that has never caused security problems and is also updated much more often than Transmission. In its latest update, released just a week ago, it added support for I2P networks, in addition to a good number of changes, improvements and new functions.
