Four Quarters, the studio behind Loop Hero, says it's okay to pirate your game if it's affected by such sanctions due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine starting on February 24. Due to sanctions, some customers in Russia are unable to use regular payment methods to purchase the game on Steam.

Being a Russian studio itself, Four Quarters also stated that it is against Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Thus, the company encourages its community to "help raise the pirate flag." Following that post, Four Quarters stated that "there's nothing wrong with torrenting" and that it has received a lot of donations. The game will receive an update that is 80% complete.
