Torrent Group's City Gas Distribution (CGD) arm, Torrent Gas, began supplying PNG in the Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh and expanded its PNG supply network to four districts of the state.
UP Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated Phase 1 of the city's gas distribution network (CGD) in Gorakhpur on Sunday, beginning piped natural gas supply to 100 households and an industrial connection, according to a statement. .
โWith the start of the supply of PNG in Gorakhpur, we have now started supplying in four UP districts and in the coming months, we will start supplying in 11 more districts,โ said Jinal Mehta, Director of Torrent Gas.
The CM dedicated the City Gate station and eight Torrent Gas CNG stations.
In his speech, the Chief Minister said: โThe availability of natural gas is likely to attract more industries in Gorakhpur and bring new opportunities and development in the region. The domestic, commercial and industrial use of natural gas will stimulate further industrial development in the state โ.

Torrent Gas, with a presence in 15 districts of Uttar Pradesh, has planned an investment of 3.3 billion rupees before fiscal 2026, of which nearly 1.8 billion rupees will be spent in eastern Uttar Pradesh, including Gorakhpur, Mehta reported.
โThrough this investment, we intend to connect more than 8.25 lakh of residences in UP with supply from PNG and establish more than 225 CNG stations in UP over the next few years. Investment in UP is expected to create direct and indirect employment opportunities for more than 3,000 people, โsaid Mehta.
Furthermore, he mentioned that Torrent now has an extensive network of 235 operational CNG stations across the country, of which more than 100 are located in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
