‘Torrent of anti-Semitism’ at UCL must be investigated, say 500 alumni

The letter calls for “swift and decisive action,” including treating complaints from students, staff and third parties seriously and launching an independent investigation into the student committees responsible for these activities.

Eight prominent rabbis from the UK and around the world – all UCL alumni – also backed the letter, organized by The Pinsker Centre, a think tank campaigning against antisemitism in British universities.

They include Dayan Ivan Binstock, a senior rabbinical judge at the London Beth Din, and Rabbi Dr. Raphael Zarum, dean of the London School of Jewish Studies, formerly the Jewish College.

"Crude and manifest anti-Semitism"

Rabbi Pini Dunner, senior rabbi of the Beverly Hills synagogue, said: ''Hamas's obsessive focus on Israel and knee-jerk advocacy of terrorism can only be explained as pure, overt anti-Semitism disguised as political activism.

“UCL must take a clear and unequivocal stance against this.”

UCL has been contacted for comment.
