Ahmedabad: Torrent Group's integrated utility, Torrent Power Ltd (TPL), announced Wednesday that it has awarded the turnkey contract for a 300-megawatt (MW) wind power project in Karnataka. Suzlon Energy The contract was awarded after a public tender and commissioning is scheduled for March 2025.
Torrent Power currently has an aggregate installed generation capacity of 4.1 gigawatts (GW), consisting primarily of clean generation sources such as gas (2.7 GW) and renewables (1.07 GW). 0.4 GW renewable generation plants are being developed, in addition to the 300 MW wind project, which has just been awarded.
โTorrent's growth focus on power generation remains on renewables as it continues to add more capacity to its portfolio. With a balanced portfolio of wind and solar, it is also working on other green energy avenues of pumped hydro and green hydrogen,โ the company said in a statement.
