Trump’s crypto wallet swells to $12m after conviction

In the last 24 hours, a crypto wallet identified as belonging to Donald Trump recorded almost $500,000 in new deposits in a host of different tokens, including Ethereum.

The wallet moves come after a 12-person jury in New York yesterday found Trump guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records.

He could face a prison sentence and try to overturn the verdict on appeal.

According to the analysis platform Arkham Intelligence, the former president now owns more than $12 million in cryptocurrencies. The platform tied the wallet to Trump through his August 2023 financial statements.

Its largest token holding is in the memecoin of the same name, TRUMP.

On May 24, Trump's wallet contained around $9 million in cryptocurrency.

The verdict has galvanized supportswho see the trial as a political persecution aimed at weakening their chances of defeating President Joe Biden.

Triumph cemented his support of crypto earlier this month and said his campaign will accept crypto donations.
