Twitch Reportedly Hacked, Full Source Code And User Payout Information Leaked

All streaming service Twitch it has reportedly been hacked by an anonymous attacker, who has leaked a 125GB torrent with its source code and user payment information.

The hacker posted the torrent link to 4chan, explaining that the information was leaked to "encourage more disruption and competition in the online video streaming space" because "your community is a disgusting toxic cesspool."

VGC notes that the torrent appears to be legitimate, although like them, we are obviously not going to link to it here. However, it is believed to include the following:

  • Twitch's source and comment history "dates back to its inception"
  • 2019 Creator Pay Reports
  • Twitch Clients for Mobile, Desktop and Console Devices
  • Proprietary SDKs and internal AWS services used by Twitch
  • "All other properties owned by Twitch" including IGDB and CurseForge
  • Steam, an unreleased competitor to Steam from Amazon Game Studos
  • Twitch's internal 'red team' tools

Several Twitter users have already started examining the torrent themselves, with one user claiming that it also features encrypted passwords, so he advises Twitch users to change their passwords just in case. Additionally, the torrent allegedly includes Unity's code for a game called Vapeworld.
