tyson fury raised the challenge of Oleksandr Usik as the two heavyweight champions went head-to-head in an intense showdown.
Usyk, holder of the unified WBA 'Super', IBF, WBO and IBO title, was front row at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday night to watch Fury retain his WBC belt in emphatic fashion in front of 60,000 fans with a Completely dominant 10th round stoppage of Derek Chisoraalso supporting fellow Ukrainian Denys Berinchyk, who won European lightweight gold after beating Yvan Mendy.
Fury called out Usyk after his fourth straight stoppage win and unleashed a barrage of expletive-laced insults, prompting his rival to leap to the edge of the ring for a glare.
“You're next, bitch,” Fury roared at Usyk, who remained silent and grinning despite the torrent of insults. "You rabbit. You fagot.
“The little 15-stone dwarf beat a bodybuilder. But I'm not a fan of bodybuilders, I'm going to write you off. I already did a Ukrainian in [Wladimir] Klitschko I didn't do it, and I'll do it to you too with gapped teeth.
“Let's do it, bitch. You can laugh now, but I'll be done with this little fool. I'll be done with you. You little fool. What are you going to do? You're going to fuck everything up, you little sausage."
In response, Usyk described the matchup as a “good fight” and stated: “I have never been afraid of him. [Fury].”
The manufactured histrionics after the fight became even more dramatic as another heavyweight contender, the interim WBO champion. joe joycehe also joined the fray as he looks to fight one or both of Fury and Usyk in the future after his dramatic late knockout of Joseph Parker in Manchester in September.
"Why don't the three of us do a Royal Rumble then?!" Fury said.
Fury later promised in a separate interview with BT Sport that he would fight Joyce at Wembley in early 2023 if Usyk's undisputed fight couldn't be finalized, although he also admitted that he probably now requires surgery on an elbow injurycasting doubt on the timeline of the entire division.
