US News and World Report evaluated and identified its list of law firms based on how the firms scored on six key metrics: quality of payment and benefits; balance and flexibility between personal and work life; job and business stability; physical and psychological comfort; belonging and esteem; and career and professional development opportunities. The 2024 edition of this list is the first of its kind.
To develop the list, US News & World Report partnered with a panel of experts to compile and analyze publicly available data from company websites and employee disclosures. This data was then compiled into standardized scores for each of the six key areas. The law firms with the highest scores were included in the list of Best Companies to Work for: Law Firms.
