Unseen footage of Titanic wreckage from 1986, VIDEO will give you goosebumps

New Delhi: The tragic fate of the Royal Mail Ship Titanic is one of those rare moments in history that has continued to fascinate generations for the past century.

Then, in 1997, James Cameron made the Titanic story immortal with his unrivaled classic film named after the ill-fated ship.

Yet after all these years, the Titanic is still a topic of interest, with many still trying to uncover the mysteries surrounding it. This curiosity has to lead to the release of an unseen clip of the wreckage of the 1986 Titanic. The video was shared on Instagram by the user of the 'Now this news' account.

Breaking the internet, the unseen video was released coincidentally on the 25th anniversary of Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet's 1997 film Titanic.

The clip shows the shattered shell of the lifeless RMS Titanic on the bed of the Atlantic Ocean, 13,000 feet below the earth's surface.

Internet users have described the clip as "creepy." The wreckage was discovered in 1986 by Dr. Robert Ballard, who led the expedition with the Woods Hole Oceanic Institution. Dr. Robert first photographed the sunken Titanic in 1985 and recorded this footage almost a year later.

Titanic was a luxury British passenger ship that met such an unfortunate fate on its maiden voyage. The tragedy claimed the lives of more than 1,500 people, including passengers and ship staff. The royal mail boat was en route from New York City to Southampton, England.

Competing manufacturers claimed the ship of unprecedented size was "unsinkable". Even to this day, many believe that the luxury voyage's superstructure would have survived had it been in a direct collision with the iceberg, instead of going slow and scraping its sides.

The Titanic story has inspired many movies, songs, and paintings.
