BitTorrent inventor Bram Cohen appears to have quietly abandoned BitTorrent following its acquisition by TRON earlier this month.
The specialized media TorrentFreak reported that Bram Cohen had broken ties with BitTorrent, the company he founded in 2004, after inventing and launching its Torrent protocol three years earlier.
There has been no official announcement from TRON or the inventor of BitTorrent regarding this development. TorrentFreak received an automated response after attempting to contact Cohen's BitTorrent email, it became clear that the address was no longer active.
Cohen later confirmed that he is no longer involved with TRON, meaning BitTorrent's integration with Justin Sun's blockchain ecosystem will continue without its founder.
