Watch: Islamabad Sector E11 cloudburst floods neighbourhood in torrents

Sector E 11 in Islamabad, just off Saidpur, has been flooded with torrents of hills that have washed away cars after a downpour.

It will take a few hours for the water to come down and people have been told to stay home. It was estimated that 123 mm of rain had fallen.

This area is located next to the Margallah Hills, so the torrents of the hills developed as the water receded.

The Nullah Ley of Rawalpindi is flooded and the army has been called in.
This was the second spell of the monsoon. An emergency has been declared and sirens sounded.

The rain started in Islamabad at night. Bridges and power poles have been damaged. Minister Sheikh Rasheed went to supervise the work. "All personnel related to the floods are on site," he said.

In Rawalpindi, the rain stopped at noon and the water levels began to drop. He was 10 feet at New Kataria and 8 feet at Gowal Mandi. Nullah Ley had 21 feet of water.

In Islamabad, a woman and her son were killed by a wall collapse. At noon in Sector E-11, the basements of the square and the market have been flooded. Generators are being used to drive pumps to drain the water whenever possible.
