Yogi inaugurates Torrent Gas for domestic and Industrial Piped Natural Gas in Gorakhpur

Gorakhpur, Oct 3 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched Phase 1 of the City Gas Distribution (CGD) network in Gorakhpur on Sunday.

As part of the event, the CM inaugurated the supply of Canalized Natural Gas (PNG) to the first set of 100 Domestic connections and 1 Industrial connection. It also dedicated the City Gate Station (CGS) and 8 Torrent Gas CNG stations, bringing the total number of operational Torrent CNG stations in Gorakhpur GA (Geographic Area) to 18.

Torrent Gas, has been authorized by the Oil and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) to establish and operate the CGD network and provide compressed natural gas (CNG) and piped natural gas (PNG) in 15 districts of Uttar Pradesh, including Gorakhpur.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath encouraged people to adopt PNG and GNC and said: โ€œThe availability of PNG will bring great relief to the people of Gorakhpur in general and housewives in particular due to the convenience and the significant savings it offers. . The availability of natural gas is likely to attract more industries in Gorakhpur, creating new opportunities and development in the region. The domestic, commercial and industrial use of Natural Gas will promote greater industrial development in the State โ€.

He also assured that the state government will take measures to facilitate a faster deployment of the CGD infrastructure in the state.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Jinal Mehta, Director of Torrent Gas said: โ€œTorrent Gas, with a presence in 15 districts in Uttar Pradesh, is committed to the overall development of the State and has planned an investment of Rs. 3,300 Crores for Fiscal Year 26, of which almost Rs. Rs 1.8 billion will be spent in eastern Uttar Pradesh, including Gorakhpur. Through this investment, we intend to connect more than 8.25 lac residences in UP with PNG supply and establish more than 225 CNG stations in UP over the next few years. The investment in UP is expected to create direct and indirect employment opportunities for more than 3,000 people. With the start of the supply of PNG in Gorakhpur, we have now started the supply of PNG in 4 districts of UP and in the coming months, we will start the supply of PNG in the rest of the 11 districts. "

In addition, he mentioned that Torrent now has an extensive network of 235 CNG stations operating throughout the country, of which more than 100 are in t UP.
