An Indian-origin doctor in Britain has claimed that the hospital made him apologise when he reported about nurse Lucy Letby who was involved in killing newborn babies. According to a report by ITV News, Dr. Ravi Jayaram used to work at Countess of Chester Hospital where a case of a nurse murdering seven newborns has emerged.
Dr. Jayaram was among those who helped the British court declare the nurse guilty of killing seven newborns on Friday, and she will be sentenced on Monday. In an interview with ITV News after the verdict, Jayaram said he believes that if action had been taken on time, four or five children would be alive and going to school today.
Facts of the Matter
On Friday, a nurse from Britain was found guilty of murdering seven newborn babies and attempting to murder six others. The Crown Prosecution Service stated on Friday that the nurse will be sentenced on Monday, 21st August, in a Manchester Crown Court.
The convicted nurse, Lucy Letby, is 33 years old. She has been on trial since last October. Most of the children whose murder she was found guilty of were either ill or prematurely born. These murders took place between June 2015 and June 2016 at the Countess of Chester Hospital in northwest England.
In this case, the nurse was arrested three times between July 2018 and November 2020. She was also released twice during this period. Charges were brought against Lucy in November 2020. After 22 days of deliberation, the jury of Manchester Crown Court in northern England reached a verdict.
